Community Streeties India - an initiative by Sharanaksh
About the NGO
SHARANAKSH is a non-profit Trust dedicated to the rescue, care, rehabilitation, and re-homing of neglected/abused dogs. The word &ldquo Sharanaksh&rdquo has been derived from Sanskrit words Sharanam (meaning shelter) and Raksha (meaning to protect). This animal shelter under the Trust is called Community Streeties India (CSI).
The trust was established in Aug 2018 avid animal lovers led by Sai Geetha. CSI started with just 8 dogs and is now home to 160+ rescued dogs and pups who are abandoned, paralyzed, old, injured and sick.
CSI has rescued and rehabilitated over 2000+ dogs in the past decade in both individual and CSI capacity and apart from rescues, the organization also provides 450+ meals daily to the community dogs in parts of South/North Rural Bangalore, so there are less hurt and less hungry animals in Bangalore.
