About the NGO

The establishment of Shikhar Yuva Manch (SYM) took shape in 1997, when a collective of driven young individuals, who had connected while studying in college during the early nineties, joined forces with a shared vision. Their mutual desire was to contribute significantly to the improvement of rural communities, sparking the beginning of a transformative journey.

The seeds of their initiative were sown by a compelling realization: the need to address critical issues within rural areas. With this purpose in mind, they initiated the mobilization of rural youth, serving as a platform for these young minds to voice their concerns, engage actively with pertinent societal matters, and create tangible positive changes within their localities.

The organization's activities manifested in various impactful ways. It involved conducting awareness campaigns centered on vital themes such as water conservation, tree plantation, and facilitating access to books among disadvantaged students. These initiatives showcased their commitment to sustainability, education, and community involvement, particularly among those who were most underserved.

In summation, Shikhar Yuva Manch's genesis is rooted in the fervour of impassioned youths, motivated by the urgency of addressing challenges within rural communities. Through its transformative journey, the organization has grown into a multifaceted entity that champions critical causes, advocates for marginalized individuals, and collaborates strategically to effect substantial positive change within society.
