The Good Sam Foundation
About the NGO
The Good Sam Foundation (GSF) is registered in June 2016, as a Charitable Trust based in Bengaluru. We have been running two different programs, SAHAYAAK and ROSHINI.
Sahayaak is a very comprehensive Wound Management and Rehabilitation Therapy program that reaches out to People with Disabilities (PWDs), whose lives have been shattered by tragic accidents and many others who have been paralyzed for life due to spinal cord injuries or other conditions and disorders. Sahayaak strives to make the most optimal medical and therapeutic options available to the poorest of the poor and the marginalized. We have helped our beneficiaries with complex surgical procedures that address condition related to Spinal Cord Injuries, Burns, Leprosy, Elephantiasis, Orthopedic Complications, Diabetes, Vascular and Venous Conditions and host of conditions requiring corrective surgeries. These procedures have brought relief and hope to our beneficiaries and set them up to celebrate life again.
The Roshini program Empowers Women. This program runs a six month long tailoring program for women next to a slum in Vijinapura, Bangalore. Through this program women learn to sew, embroider, and make beautiful ladies dresses and garments. The beneficiaries of this program live in challenging environments and often face untold hardship including physical abuse. Our program helps the women build great relationships, form support groups, learn how to deal with domestic issues, become financially independent and live with dignity.
