About the NGO
The Udbhav Vision Foundation (UVF) is a dynamic non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of blind and visually impaired individuals in Rajasthan and neighboring states. Our objective focuses on empowering this community through digital literacy, skill development, livelihood promotion, and financial literacy. With a well-conceptualized action plan, UVF aims to bridge gaps and create opportunities for a more inclusive society.
Leadership and Management
Under the leadership of Shri Chetan Sharma, who left a prominent position as Chief Manager at Oriental Bank of Commerce to dedicate his life to UVF' s mission, the foundation operates with a passionate team. Shri Sharma' s commitment is reflected in his decision to forgo a lucrative career and contribute his time and expertise to this cause. Alongside dedicated staff members and a network of volunteers, UVF is driven by a shared vision to make a meaningful impact. The board of Directors is the apex decision making body of UVF well supported by an advisory board.
Facilities and Projects
UVF operates from an independent facility of over 1,400 square feet, where we implement and manage several key projects:
1. Braille and Digital Literacy Center: Providing essential training in Braille and digital skills.
2. Digital Online Library for the Blind in India (DOLBI): Offering a vast collection of digital resources tailored for the blind community.
3. SUNIDHI: Promoting financial inclusion, literacy, and awareness among visually impaired
4. Swavlamban: a digital literacy and employability initiative

We envision, The distinct ability of each visually impaired person shall be utilized to the fullest extent.
Our Mission
Every visually impaired or Blind individual has access to books.
Achievements to Date
As of March 31, 2024, UVF has positively impacted over 4,000 lives through a range of projects, including:
· Swavlamban: Enhancing employability and independent living skills for visually impaired persons.
· DOLBI: Expanding access to digital resources for the blind in India.
· Aparajita: Empowering blind girls through targeted support.
· Sambal: Assisting blind individuals whose livelihoods were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
· SUNIDHI: Offering financial literacy programs for the blind.
· Prashiksha: Distributing laptops, mobile devices, and electronic book readers while providing vocational training.
· Sugam: Making special devices accessible to the blind at affordable prices.
· Srijan: Showcasing and nurturing the artistic talents of blind individuals.
· Sparsh: Providing Braille books to visually impaired students.
· Dhwani: Supplying audio books to enhance learning and engagement.
Future Plans
Looking ahead, UVF aims to:
· Upgrade the Braille and Digital Literacy Center: Modernize our infrastructure and expand our curriculum to align with current job market demands.
· Expand DOLBI: Enhance and broaden our digital online library to better serve the needs of the blind community. We are seeking new partnerships and support.
Additionally, we are planning two new initiatives:
· Helpline: Develop a comprehensive helpline to address the psychological, training, and technical needs of individuals with visual impairments.
· Socio-Economic Research: Conduct a large-scale study on the socio-economic conditions of visually impaired individuals in Rajasthan to generate accurate data and inform policy and support programs.
Udbhav Vision Foundation is committed to creating a world where every visually impaired individual has the resources and opportunities to thrive.
