A Brighter Future: Journey to Empowerment with CONARE
Bharathi is a housewife. her husband is working as a VRA in lingal. She has three children; their Family depends on the husband’s income. They don’t have any land. Therefore, Bharathi became interested in being self-employed and joined a little hand embroidery training program organized by the MEDP-CONARE organization for 15 days in lingual Mandal. Through this training, she learned various types of designs in hand embroidery and mastered the course. After the training, she started doing hand embroidery work at home. within a short time, orders were coming from Lingual as well as neighboring villages, thus per week approximately 5-10 orders were taken. Through this work, her financial condition has improved and it also provides employment to others. Currently earns around 3500 rupees per week. Their life which used to run on her husband’s income, became easier with her income.
B. Yadamma is a working woman. Her husband sells fruits on a cart. They have two children. Her husband has heart and liver disease. So, she is the one who takes care of the family. With some previous tailoring training experience. In this tailoring, she insisted on getting a full understanding. She participated in a 15-day tailoring training program organized by MEDP-CONARE in Kondanagula village. After training, she bought a machine of her own and started tailoring at home. By starting this tailoring work, she is able to support her children’s education. Also, the health of her husband improved with him no longer having to bear the load of sustenance alone. Through this work, her financial situation improved and she continued tailoring. Currently earns around 5500 rupees per week. So Yadamma is now self-employed and supports the family.
