Handicraft Work timeline - March 2022- 2024

Experience with women in the community- In the beginning, at small level, women have given the form of business to handicraft items, set up their stalls in markets, government and non-government programs, displayed their products, sold the goods, experienced the prices of cheap and expensive goods in the markets. Handicraft products are becoming popular in India due to their unique artistic nature and craftsmanship. In the past and present years, by March 2022 - 2024, about 100 women have been associated with handicrafts so that they can give flight to their art, create their own identity and become financially strong with their skills.
Handicraft work with women’s beneficiaries
- Textile based Handicrafts: Print design on fabric is very popular in India. Handicrafts include printed textiles including tie and dye. These prints are used in products ranging from bed covers to bed sheets, dress material upholstery and tapestries. Printed embroidered items, often decorated with mirrors, shells, beads, and metal pieces, used by women as scrap materials or fine novelties that are beautiful in appearance.
- Plastics, Metals and Jewellery: Plastics, brass, copper, bronze, bell metals are used in a wide variety of goods and in a variety of finishes. Metal crafts include a variety of items such as metal jewellery, glittering jewelery available in a wide range of patterns, styles and compositions. For example, anklets, armlets, bangles, bracelets, brooches, chokers, earrings, necklaces, beads, pendants, rings, toe rings.
- Home Furnishing: Bed covers, carpets, coverlets, curtains, cushion covers, duvets, kitchen towels, quilts, rugs & mats, sofa covers, throws, stools, tables.
- Puppets: Beneficiaries were given training on wooden and hand made puppets and were also taught how to operate them.
- Needle work: Hand embroidery, crochet work, mirror work, curtains made of wool, thread, thalpos, cushion covers, table covers, decoration etc. These items made of colorful colors are very attractive.
Gole Future plan:
Start of craft business- Making and selling handmade products prepared by skilled artisans in handicraft business to the beneficiaries, these products include textiles, jewellery, wood work, paintings, decorative items and various other artistic items. Handicraft business ideas often focus on unique, high-quality and artisanal goods that showcase creativity, traditional techniques and craftsmanship. These are run independently or in collaboration with artisans and craftsmen to promote traditional skills and preserve cultural heritage.
Conclusion
we can say that despite some challenges in handicraft business, it is a promising sector. The importance of the handicraft sector cannot be traced to any particular time. Deeply rooted in the long heritage of the land, it evolved gradually over centuries and represents the rich, unique traditions of the soil, its people and their distinct culture. The nurturing factors that have helped the sector flourish are the artisans' love for their art, as well as their tireless efforts to survive despite the odds. Recently, the convenient services provided by public and various private agencies to organize and strengthen the sector have paved the way for better and efficient performance of the sector and we also help our beneficiaries (women) in improving their lives, Empowering and empowering families to utilize their skills
