From Vision to Reality: RJHSS's Commitment to Community Development
Since its start in 2003, Rashtriya Janhit Sewa Sansthan (RJHSS) has worked towards its goal of building stronger, healthier, and more self-reliant communities in both urban and rural areas of India. Here's an overview of our progress:
Providing Clean Drinking Water:
- We have supplied clean water to over 200,000 people.
- We built water pipelines, overhead tanks, and conservation systems in over 150 villages.
- We educated more than 100,000 people about saving water and using it responsibly.
This has helped reduce water waste, improved water access, and supported farming.
Skill Development and Livelihood Programs:
- We have trained over 35,000 people in job skills and entrepreneurship.
- We have given skill development workshops to people on computer skills, tailoring, farming, and business management.
- Many participants from these workshops have found jobs or started their own businesses, improving their family's financial condition.
Environmental Protection:
- We have planted more than 250,000 trees to conserve the environment and prevent soil erosion.
- We’ve raised awareness about the importance of protecting nature.
- Our efforts have helped improve soil, water, and local ecosystems.
Improving Hygiene and Sanitation:
- We’ve set up waste management systems and built sanitation units in over 500 villages.
- We’ve held hygiene workshops for over 200,000 people.
- Our work has positively impacted sanitation-related health problems and improved living conditions of many individuals.
Responding to Emergencies (COVID-19 and beyond):
- During the COVID-19 pandemic, we organized health camps and awareness sessions for over 50,000 people.
- We donated essential supplies like masks, sanitizers, and food to those in need during the lockdowns.
- Our efforts helped strengthen communities and prevent the spread of the virus.
Empowering Women:
- We’ve trained over 20,000 women in skills like entrepreneurship, healthcare, and leadership.
- We’ve helped form self-help groups and small businesses, giving women financial independence.
- Many of these women now have roles in local leadership and decision-making.
Supporting Education for All:
- We have set up 50 Early Learning Centres, reaching to 10,000 children.
- We have trained almost 500 teachers to improve education quality.
- These efforts have raised the literacy rates and helped children succeed in life.
Since 2003, RJHSS has worked to bring positive change in rural and semi-urban areas across India. What started as a small initiative and now we have grown into a trusted organization that was capable to and has improved the lives of thousands of people. We have tackled many challenges like water scarcity, unemployment, lack of education, environmental issues, and public health problems and we have succeeded in facing them.
RJHSS continues to make a difference and is committed to expanding the social impact in the years ahead. Together with the community we will turn challenges into opportunities and dreams into reality.
